The Big Board
You seemed to make it sound that Arthur Langlie was still the governor of Washington State (that is actually Christine Gregoire). That proclamation was during the Red Scare of the 1950s. It was a very interesting time in the state, even with an early version of McCarthyism: Canwell ruined many lives.
ReplyDeleteIt was also when the Pledge of Allegiance was modified to include "under God" and when the "In God We Trust" became the official US motto. Ugh.
